With World Environment Day around the corner on June 5th and COP26 the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland just six months away, green issues remain firmly on the agenda for 2021. The building construction industry needs to play its part, especially as according to the United Nations Environment Programme, the sector is responsible for 38% of global carbon emissions.

So it’s no surprise then that there is a huge demand for sustainable solutions from architects, designers and those involved in specifying for products for commercial interiors. Which is where High Performance comes in. This is a brand new wallcovering from Omexco, made out of recycled materials, containing no PVC or harmful substances and entirely breathable. Created after several years of research and development, High Performance is an ecological alternative to vinyl, while having very similar properties. Omexco has developed a solution that is composed of recycled fibres and that meets the high technical demands of the contract market.

This Belgian manufacturer is committed to green business, with its factory powered by solar panels and water is recycled back into production. The whole collection is printed with water soluble ink and without heavy metals. That said, there are no compromises when it comes to how it looks or performs. There are five different textile textures: Denim, Abaca, Silky, Tussah and Linen. Each one has eleven colourways with bespoke colours available. The five different textures are totally seamless and easy to install, measuring one metre wide. And because it’s sold by the metre, waste is minimised. Plus, as the name suggests, this is a very strong, heavy duty wallcovering.
As well as looking the part, High Performance also has strong sustainability credentials.
